Nicolas Ahouissoussi, a Beninese national, is a Senior Agriculture Economist in the West and Central Africa Agriculture and Food Practice Group. He has led the preparation and supervision of a wide range of operations in agriculture/agribusiness/livestock including the first PforR in agriculture sector in the West and Central Africa Region, as well as policy dialogue in several countries in Africa and Europe, and Central Asia. Prior to joining the Bank, he served as Chief of Agro-industrial Services at the Bureau Central of Projects in the Ministry of Planning and Economic Analysis in Benin, and Research Assistant in the Department of Agriculture and Applied Economics at the University of Georgia, Athens, GA. He holds a Ph.D. in Agriculture and Applied Economics from the University of Georgia, Athens, GA (USA). Nicolas has published in the field of climate change, economics of biofuel, agriculture production, and value chain development.
