Niharika Hanglem is a consultant for the Social Enterprise Innovations team at the Innovation and Entrepreneurship unit of the Trade and Competitiveness Global Practice. A 2014 StartingBloc Social Innovation Fellow, she is passionate about creating significant social impact using market-based solutions for innovative projects across service delivery models.
Prior to her work at the World Bank Group, Niharika has worked for various startups, social enterprises and the private sector. Some of her projects include: conducting large scale assessments for 150+ low-income schools in the urban slums of India, launching the first of its kind school choice initiative aimed for the BoP, supporting the design and deployment of the last mile 108 emergency medical service, launching the inaugural India Demo Day showcasing innovative Indian startups in NYC. For two years now, she has served as a judge for the GWU New Venture Competition, helping students become successful entrepreneurs. She has also delivered lectures on designing a career in social innovation, startups & social impact for GWU students.
