Nikita Makarenko is a research analyst with the World Bank’s Development Economics Prospects Group, where he provides data analytics, macroeconomic research, and visualization support for flagship publications, including the Commodity Markets Outlook and Global Economic Prospects, with a focus on energy markets. He previously worked with the World Bank’s Agriculture & Food Global Engagement Unit, where he facilitated the development of food security preparedness plans and co-authored deliverables on public policy and agriculture. He holds an M.S. in Foreign Service, specializing in International Development, from Georgetown University, and a B.A from the American University.
