Norhan, a British-Egyptian national, joined the World Bank Office in Cairo as STC in June 2013. She has contributed to multiple operations in Egypt across the urban and water sectors, including the Sustainable Rural Sanitation Services Program for Results. During her time in Cairo, she also supported the Disaster Risk Management program. More recently, she contributed to key knowledge products of the Policy, Institutions, and Regulation (PIR) work stream of the WSS GSG, including the global study on Aligning Institutions and Incentives for Sustainable WSS and Regulation of WSS in Bank Client Countries. Norhan holds a master’s degree in public policy from the University of Oxford and a bachelor’s degree in economics and political science from the American University in Cairo. As WSS GSG Coordinator, Norhan’s responsibilities include support to the WSS GSG in leveraging key regional and global operations, curating and generating knowledge, and enhancing partnerships within and outside the Bank.
