Ola has almost two decades of experience in international development and inclusive social policies for persons with disabilities. She has extensive policy and research experience in disability.Ola’s responsibilities have encompassed policy analysis, programme design, management and evaluation, formulation of advocacy strategies, capacity development, extensive use of qualitative methods, and research with the World Bank, UN agencies (WHO, ILO, UNESCO, UNICEF), NGOs (including disability organisations) and INGOs. Ola has been a member of advisory bodies to support governments in social policy reform and has recently been involved in providing technical expertise around effective reforms towards inclusive social protection policies. Ola possesses a wealth of knowledge and insight into current developments along with relevant strategies and instruments (such as the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, the twin-track approach and the Sustainable Development Goals) in the disability and social protection sector.
She has held significant roles in various policy initiatives, including currently vice chairing the International Disability and Development Consortium (IDDC) and representing IDDC on the Policy Board of the UN Partnership for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNPRPD); a board member at the Global Disability Innovation Hub; board member of Disability Rights Fund; and core group member at the Together 2030 agenda.
