Olga Tomilova

Regional Representative for Europe and Central Asia (ECA)

Olga Tomilova is a member of the Policy Team at the Consultative Group to Assist the Poor (CGAP), contributing principally to the work of the Global Policy Architecture Initiative and Protecting Customers Initiative. She leads the team’s engagement on technical standard setting for digital financial inclusion. From 2007 through 2015, she worked as CGAP's Regional Representative for Eastern Europe and Central Asia, collaborating with partners in the region and beyond on such issues as regulatory frameworks to accommodate technological and business model innovation for financial inclusion, consumer protection, and responsible finance generally. Before joining CGAP in 2007, she managed the Central Asia Microfinance Center, a joint project of the Microfinance Centre for CEE and the NIS (MFC) and CGAP in Kazakhstan and worked as MFC’s manager of training and consulting. Her prior background includes research for Harvard University in Russia, service as executive director for the Russian Women’s Microfinance Network in Moscow, and finance management assistance for Opportunity International in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia. She has a degree in history, social sciences, and applied sociology from Nizhny Novgorod State University in Russia and holds a professional certificate in accounting.
