Olivier Lavinal is Program Leader for Planet and Infrastructure for Afghanistan, South Asia Region (SAR), at the World Bank. Olivier was the Lead Author of the World Bank Group (WBG) Strategy for Fragility, Conflict and Violence (FCV) – released in March 2020 – and Manager of the Global Concessional Financing Facility (GCFF). Olivier served as Senior Social Development Specialist as well as Special Assistant to the Vice President for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Region and was a member of the management team that revised the strategy of the WBG in the MENA region and contributed to its implementation.
Olivier Lavinal graduated from Sciences Po Paris and holds a Masters in Comparative Politics from the same school. Olivier is an alum of Georgetown University and a Scholar of the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs (WCFIA), Harvard University.
