Oludele Folarin

2023 World Bank Group Africa Fellow

Oludele Folarin is a 2023 World Bank Group Africa Fellow. As a Fellow, he provides research support to the IFC Syndication and Mobilization Unit targeted towards raising debt capital for IFC private sector clients in developing countries. Before joining the WBG as a Fellow, he worked as a Research Associate at the Centre for the Study of the Economies of Africa (CSEA), a think tank based in Abuja, Nigeria. He worked on projects targeted at improving debt management, education, and increasing firm capacity to create jobs, especially for the young population at both the national and sub-national level. His research interests are in financial sector development, development finance, innovation and job creation, resource mobilization and public finance management, and human capital development. He has published peer-reviewed articles in the Journal of Policy Modeling, Review of Development Economics, African Development Review, and the Annals of Travel Research. He holds a master’s degree in economics from the University of Ibadan. He is finalizing a Ph.D. in Economics at the Department of Economics, University of Ibadan, Nigeria.
