Owen Nie is an economist with the World Bank’s Equitable Growth, Finance, and Institutions (EFI) Vice Presidency, with assignments in the financial sector global team and in the East Asia & Pacific region. He has been with the World Bank since 2019 and his work includes a wide range of economic and financial sector issues, with experiences in policy research and analysis, surveillance, technical assistance, and lending operations. Owen holds a PhD in economics from the University of Michigan Ann Arbor, where he conducted research in international macroeconomics and produced forecasts of the US economy.
