Özgül Calicioglu joined the Environment, Natural Resources and Blue Economy Global Practice operations in East Asia and Pacific Region as a Young Professional in 2019. Through her involvement in the Brown Agenda, particularly on marine plastics pollution, she brings knowledge and experience related to the water-energy-food nexus and waste valorization. She also contributes to the Environmental and Social Framework activities carried out for various development projects in the region, in order to safeguard environmental sustainability.
Özgül is an Environmental Engineer by training, holding a PhD from the Pennsylvania State University, MS and BS from the Middle East Technical University, and a BA in Management from the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia.
