Palesa Mokorosi is a Water Resources Management Specialist for the Water Global Practice of the World Bank based in the Lesotho Country Office. She has twenty years' experience in water resource management acquired in different Southern African countries from private consulting firms, government, and inter-governmental agencies. At the World Bank she leads the regional groundwater management program implemented in the sixteen member states of the Southern African Development Community (SADC). Furthermore, Palesa co-leads national-level projects within Lesotho, with a current focus on managing integrated catchment management approaches and finding water supply and sanitation solutions. Her areas of specialization revolve around groundwater management, transboundary water resources management, and climate resilience. Prior to joining the World Bank, Palesa held progressive roles, starting as a researcher at the African Centre for Water Research, and later joined the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) as a Senior Programme Officer-Water and Wetlands Programme. She holds a postgraduate degree in geohydrology and a Master of Science in water resources management.
