Paloma Monroy is senior consultant on migration, remittances and development for international organizations. She has been managing a regional program on payment systems and remittances between the World Bank, CEMLA and the IDB for the past six years. The work included the design, implementation and evaluation of projects that seek to develop safer, more competitive, efficient remittance markets. Prior joining CEMLA, she worked at AB Asesores/Morgan Stanley at Mexico and for Telefonica de Espana in Latin America. She is PHD candidate in Applied Economics from Universidad Autonoma de Madrid, Spain & Birmingham University, UK, and holds a BA in Economics from the Universidad Autonoma de Madrid, Spain.
