Paola Agostini is a Lead Natural Resources Economist in West Africa. Her focus in West Africa is on scaling up the Sahel RESILAND program and the Upper Guinea Forest Landscape Program. In her 28 years at the World Bank, she worked on the interface of Agriculture- Environment- Water and Resilience. She developed in Latin America the first Regional Silvo-Pastoral and Shade- Grown Coffee Programs; in Africa she led the TerrAfrica partnership on Sustainable Land Management, the Great Green Wall Program, the Forest Landscape Program in Liberia and the Landscape Restoration Program in Burundi. As Global Lead for Landscape she developed training and manuals for Integrated Landscape Management and led the World Bank partnership with the Global Landscape Forum. In Europe and Central Asia she coordinated the RESILAND program for Central Asia and South Caucasus in addition to Blueing the Black Sea Program. She holds a PhD in Economics from UCSD.
