Patricia Lopez is a Senior Water Specialist in the World Bank Water Global team specializing in infrastructure finance. She is currently coordinating the Financial Innovation Team (FIT), a dedicated Water team promoting the use of private sector solutions and private capital mobilization closely with other WBG entities. Recently, she has lead a collaboration with the OECD Environment Directorate on a research/knowledge package around financing water and worked in the development of various technical assistance tools looking to expand the use of private capital solutions and finance mobilization for water sector investments at country and operational level.
Patricia has more than 20 years of experience in water financing operations. Before joining the World Bank in 2003 she worked with various consulting firms and investment banks on project and corporate finance operations in different sectors, with a focus on private sector participation in public services and infrastructure. Within the World Bank, she has had a broad range of experiences, working as water sector specialist from headquarters and different country offices in Guyana, Argentina and Ecuador leading complex client engagements, including Bank operations, analytical work and policy dialogue in Latin America and Central and Eastern Europe. From 2016-2019 Patricia served as Program Manager for the Danube Water Program in Vienna, Austria.
Patricia holds a M.Sc. in Economics and Business with a two-year post-graduate specialization in Financing from Colegio Universitario de Estudios Financieros (C.U.N.E.F), Madrid, Spain.
