Peng Liu is a Climate Finance Specialist in the Climate Finance Mobilization unit of the Climate Change Group at the World Bank. In his current role, he manages the Carbon Initiative for Development (Ci-Dev), a World Bank trust fund that utilize result-based climate finance and carbon market to mobilize private finance for clean energy access in low-income countries.
Mr. Liu joined the Bank in 2015. He has since held various positions in the Climate Change Group, leading climate finance operations implementation, carbon market capacity building, trust fund management, stakeholder engagement, and portfolio management. Before joining the Bank, he was a Senior Project Manager with China CITIC Group, managing urban transit and railway projects in the Middle East. Peng holds an MBA from Georgetown University, a Master of Business Law from University of International Business and Economics, and a BA in Economics from Beijing Foreign Studies University.
