Peter Ravenscroft is consultant groundwater expert supporting the World Bank Water Global Practice. He trained as a hydrogeologist and has worked for over 30 years in water resources, water supply and environmental management in his native UK and worldwide. He worked for various consulting companies, in universities, and UNICEF. While working in Bangladesh he became involved in the discovery of arsenic pollution there, and since that time understanding the causes, impacts and solutions to these problems worldwide has been at the centre of his professional life. Since 2014, he has been a freelance consultant working for various donor agencies as well as several companies and NGOs. He has authored or co-authored many papers and two books: one on Global Arsenic Pollution, and one on Groundwater Resources in Bangladesh.
