Peter Selcuk is an economist in the Prospects Group of the World Bank. His work focuses on surveillance, in particular for emerging and developing economies, monetary policy and global macroeconomic risks. He is one of the lead authors of the World Bank’s flagship Global Economic Prospects report, which presents the World Bank’s outlook on the global economy. He also works on analytical projects, including research on fragile and conflict-affected situations published by the group. Prior to joining the World Bank, Mr. Selcuk was Senior Economist at the Bank of Canada’s International Department, where he contributed to the Monetary Policy Report. Throughout his career, his work has focused on macroeconomic forecasting, model development, policy analysis, and emerging structural issues impacting the global economy, including digitalization.
