Peter Siegenthaler assumed the position of country manager for Colombia on September 1, 2021. Based in Bogota, he leads the ongoing dialogue with the Government of Colombia and helps optimize the impact of the World Bank's financial and technical assistance programs in the country. Siegenthaler is an economist specializing in public financial management. Prior to this appointment, he was chief economist for the Southern Cone (Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay). In addition, he has been the World Bank representative in Uruguay and senior advisor to the Swiss Executive Director on the Administrative Council. Mr. Siegenthaler holds a Master's degree in Economic Development from the London School of Economics and a degree in Economics from the University of Zurich.
