Peter Siegenthaler is the Division Director for Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay. Based in Buenos Aires, he leads the World Bank Group’s engagement in the Southern Cone, guiding financial and technical support to help countries achieve stronger development outcomes.
Prior to this role, he served as Country Manager for Colombia. Peter brings extensive regional experience, having previously been Lead Economist for the Southern Cone, based in Argentina, and Resident Representative in Uruguay from 2010 to 2013. A Swiss national, he also served as Senior Advisor to the Executive Director representing Switzerland on the World Bank Group’s Board of Directors.
Peter Siegenthaler is an economist specializing in public financial management and holds a master’s degree in development economics from the London School of Economics.
