Phillip Jordan is an Australian consultant who is recognised internationally for his experience and practical knowledge of road safety engineering. He obtained his driver’s licence in the same year (1970) that saw his home state of Victoria experience its highest ever number of road crash fatalities. This influenced his choice of career and, after graduating with a degree in Civil Engineering, he worked with VicRoads (the state road authority for Victoria) for many years in traffic and road safety engineering.
He developed and presented many road safety engineering training courses in Australia and abroad, and led the AUSTROADS Road Safety Audit project (leading to the publication of the AUSTROADS Road Safety Audit Guide). He has now consulted in 32 countries on road safety engineering. Phillip enjoys travel and continues to finding it rewarding to assist the training and mentoring of engineers in road safety engineering in many different and diverse nations.
