Pierre Biscaye is a PhD candidate in Agricultural and Resource Economics at the University of California, Berkeley. He received his BA from Whitworth University and a Masters in Public Administration from the University of Washington. Prior to starting his PhD at Berkeley, he spent four years as a research manager for the Evans School Policy Analysis and Research Group. His research covers issues related to gender, the environment, and agriculture in low-income countries. He has conducted field work in Burkina Faso, Burundi, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, and Tanzania, and published articles in the Journal of Agricultural Economics, Food Security, Journal of Development Economics, and other development journals.
