Pierre Xavier Bonneau is Operations Manager in the World Bank's Africa West Vice Presidency, based in Dakar, Senegal, a position he has held since July 2023. He coordinates operational delivery across Senegal, Mauritania, Cabo Verde, Guinea Bissau and the Gambia. Prior to this role, Mr. Bonneau served as Program Leader for Haiti (2014–2019), and subsequently as Program Leader but also Lead Transport Specialist for West Africa (2019–2023). Throughout his career of more than 20 years, he has been dedicated to development, disaster risk management, transport, territorial planning, and public works engineering. Before joining the World Bank in 2011, he was the General Managing Director of the Roads and Transport Authority of Guadeloupe, FWI. He also held various technical and managerial positions at the Ministry for Energy, Ecology and Sustainable Development of France. A French national, he holds a MSc and a Civil Engineering Diploma from the ENTPE, National School of Public Works, University of Lyon.
