Pippa Bird is the Development Director for the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, based in the British Embassy in Kathmandu. Pippa joined the British Embassy Jordan team in August 2022.
In her 25 years with the UK Civil Service, Pippa has worked to deliver the UK’s international development objectives in Bolivia, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Somalia, Uganda and Jordan. She has also completed two secondments, one to the United Nations and one to the World Bank. During her career she has worked across a wide range of issues including fragility and conflict, natural resource management, social development and social service delivery, governance and protracted crises.
Pippa undertook her graduate studies in Zoology and holds a Master of Science degree from Oxford University. She is married with two teenage daughters.
