Qing Wang is a Senior Environmental Specialist in the Environment, Natural Resources and Blue Economy Global Practice at the World Bank. She is currently leading various initiatives on soil pollution management, soil carbon credits, chemical management, and climate adaptation in China, Indonesia, and Marshall Islands in the East Asia and Pacific region. In her previous roles, Qing worked on circular economy, green finance, NDC update and implementation, integrated clean air and cool planet initiatives, and contaminated site management in the Europe and Central Asia region, specifically in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Kosovo. She also led the Bank’s efforts in chemical and waste management in a circular economy in Lebanon and chemical management in Egypt.
Since joining the World Bank, Qing has led numerous investment programs and advisory analyses focusing on chemicals, waste, and soil pollution management across various regions. She also provided cross-support to the Africa region. Prior to her tenure at the World Bank, Qing gained experience working in the Ministry of Ecology and Environment in China. She holds a PhD in Environmental Chemistry from Peking University in China.
