Rachel Lipson

Public Integrity and Openness / Middle East and North Africa

Rachel Lipson works in the Public Integrity and Openness Department of the Governance Global Practice. Her work program focuses on the reform of public procurement systems in the Middle East and North Africa region and on global efforts to build and strengthen client procurement capacity. Prior to joining the World Bank, Rachel worked on research projects at the Council on Foreign Relations, the Earth Institute at Columbia University, and the Tobin Project. Past research topics include economic regulation, inequality, trade agreements, and public goods spending. She also served as a staff member on President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign. Rachel holds an A.B. magna cum laude in Government from Harvard University. Her senior thesis research on ethnic diversity and education governance was placed in the University Archives as a winner of the Hoopes Prize for outstanding scholarly work at Harvard.
