Rajaji Meshram is an independent Transport and Logistics sector expert currently working as a consultant with the World Bank in India. He has over 20 plus years of experience. His last corporate role was a Partner in Ernst & Young India where he led the Transport sector in northern region of India and was also in-charge of the railways sector. He started his professional career as a gazetted officer in the Indian Railways where he led large teams involved in train operations. Post an MBA from IIM, Ahmedabad, Rajaji quit government service and worked in top tier consulting firms in India for 15 plus years. He has worked with Central Government and State Government institutions in India. His work experience spans other geographies such as Africa, Middle East, Mongolia, and neighboring countries such as Bhutan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. He has worked mainly in the Transport and Logistics domain. He led the LEADS assignment, a marque initiative of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, India while at EY. He has also done extensive work with multilateral institutions such as Asian Development Bank, UNDP, JBIC and IFC. Some of his key assignments include formulating the track access charges for dedicated freight corridor in India, master planning of Visakhapatnam Chennai Industrial Corridor, revision of National Transport Policy of Bhutan, Logistics capacity development for Mongolia, program management of the Sagarmala initiative of Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, India, cost optimisation initiative for Saudi Railways etc.
