Rajee Kanagavel is a development economics consultant in the Poverty and Equity Global Practice. She currently works in the areas of socioeconomic development and crisis response in the Pacific Islands, and has experience conducting research in Zambia, Kenya, and Sudan. Prior to joining the World Bank, Rajee was a postdoctoral research fellow at University College Dublin (Ireland) and Singapore Management University (Singapore), where she worked on gender, mobility, social networks, and conflicts. She holds a PhD in quantitative sociology from the University of Hildesheim and Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz in Germany.
