Rakesh Tripathi is a Senior Professional with the World Bank’s Transport and ICT Global Practice since Feb 2013. He has over 20 years of pre-bank management and executive experience with the State Department of Transportation in Texas and Arizona. He was the first Statewide Multi-modal Transport Planning Director for Arizona. In Texas, he served as the Director of Transport Planning, based in Houston, where he pioneered the use of Access Management to solve congestion in critical corridors without adding capacity and in managing difficult technical and political consensus for one of the largest Transport program in the United States. Rakesh invented the only energy positive method to recycle waste toner in asphalt, a win-win for the environment and a unique additive for strengthening the pavement. He received a US Patent for his invention. He is currently in a field assignment in Sofia, Bulgaria with his family.
