Rama Lakshminarayanan is a Senior Health Specialist in the Health, Nutrition and Population Global Practice at the World Bank. Rama currently leads the technical work on reproductive, maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health within the GFF Secretariat, and represents the Bank as the Alternate Board Member on the Gavi Board and as a member of the Policy and Program Committee of Gavi. She specializes in reproductive maternal, newborn and child health issues and has previously served as the Bank’s Reproductive and Child Health Advisor. Rama has more than 20 years of experience working in public health in South and East Asia, and Southern and Eastern Africa. She has been extensively involved in the technical design, implementation, and monitoring of multiple health projects and has several publications related to the provision of reproductive and child health services in low-income settings. Rama started her public health career at UNICEF and has worked as a Senior Fellow at the International Women’s Health Coalition, and as a Senior Adviser at WHO and PMNCH. She has both a medical and an MBA degree.
