Raquel Orejas works with the World Bank’s Agriculture and Environment/Natural Resources Global Practices as a consultant supporting project implementation in the Southern Cone and Africa with a focus on landscapes. She is particularly involved in Climate Smart Agriculture and forestry projects. Prior to joining the World Bank in 2013, she worked as a forest carbon project manager in Madre de Dios, Peru, working closely with indigenous communities. She has also worked at Forest Trends, the Verified Carbon Standards (VCS) Association and Terra Global Capital LLC, where she conducted research and forest carbon project development. She has also worked on REDD+ issues at the IFC’s Sao Paulo office. Before that, Orejas spent a year in El Salvador working on microfinance.
