Raquel Tsukada

Social Protection Economist

Raquel Tsukada is a Social Protection Economist at the World Bank. Her work focuses on strengthening social assistance systems, improving service delivery for vulnerable populations, and advancing labor information systems through both lending operations and technical assistance.

She has led analytical work on the economic integration of migrants and refugees, pension systems, and labor marketpolicies. Prior to joining the World Bank, she held technical positions in the Government of Brazil. Raquel holds an M.A. from the University of Tsukuba (Japan), an M.Sc. from The Ohio State University (USA), and a Ph.D. from Maastricht University (the Netherlands).
