Raşit Pertev is the World Bank’s Country Manager for Chad since July 2020. He was previously the Secretary of International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), and Assistant Secretary General of World Federation of Farmers. He served as Minister of Agriculture, and as Chief Negotiator for UN Peace talks in Cyprus. He founded and presided a political party championing good governance. Starting with community-driven development in Zambia, he accumulates more than 30 years of development experience. A former refugee, Pertev holds a Master of Arts in Economics from University of Cambridge and Master of Science in Development Economics, SOAS, University of London.
