Senior Financial Sector Specialist, East Asia and Pacific

Ratchada Anantavrasilpa is a Senior Financial Sector Specialist at the World Bank office in Bangkok, Thailand since 2008. Her major responsibility is monitoring financial sector development in the Southeast Asian region including Cambodia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar and Thailand.

Over the past seven years, she has participated in several World Bank programs including the Financial Sector Assessment Program focusing on state-owned commercial banks and the Corporate Governance – Report on the Observance of Standards and Codes Program. She also provided technical inputs on the financial sector to various publications including the Thailand and Lao PDR Economic Monitors. Recently, she has led the solvency modernization program for the Thai insurance industry and developed a technical assistance program to promote financial inclusion in Myanmar.

Previously, Ratchada worked as a Foreign Exchange Dealer for eight years in a Thai bank and as an Operations Manager in its Hong Kong Branch for six years. Her areas of banking expertise include foreign exchange management, risk management, branch management, asset liability management, compliance, accounting and auditing.

Besides her formal career in the financial sector, she was a Director of the CFA Society Thailand from 2009-2013. As an active member of the CFA Society Thailand, she has volunteered to teach Portfolio Management for the CFA Level I examination and participated in the panel of judges for the CFA Investment Research Challenge in Thailand for four consecutive years. In addition, she was also an active member of the Hong Kong Society of Financial Analysts (HKSFA) and the Thai Institute of Directors (IOD).
