Ravi Shankar Chaturvedi is the Global Practice Manager for Digital Economy and Society in the Digital Vice Presidency of the World Bank. He leads experts driving the Bank’s knowledge and strategy agenda to accelerate the digitalization of productive sectors, foster local digital industries and ecosystems, expand digital delivery of social services such as healthcare and education, and strengthen user trust and safety.

Before joining the World Bank Group, Ravi was Managing Director and Co-investigator of Digital Planet, an interdisciplinary research initiative at Tufts University’s Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. There, he published widely cited research in leading business and international affairs outlets and advised governments, multilateral institutions, and Fortune 500 companies on inclusive digital transformation.

Ravi also brings extensive private sector experience in emerging markets, financial services, and strategy across the Middle East, North Africa, South Asia, and Southeast Asia. He led Portfolio and Products at American Express Middle East and North Africa and held product, market development, and strategy roles with Standard Chartered, HSBC, Hewlett-Packard, and the TATA Group in South and Southeast Asia. In addition, he served on the Estonian Government’s Advisory Group for its pioneering e-Residency program and on the World Economic Forum’s Council on Digital Trust.

He holds graduate degrees in International Affairs from The Fletcher School at Tufts University and in Business from the Asian Institute of Management in the Philippines.
