Reem Hashad joined the World Bank in 2023 as an Analyst working on the Entrepreneurship Database project. Earlier, she contributed to the development of a toolkit to measure indirect jobs at the World Bank's Social Protect and Jobs Global Practice. Reem obtained a Ph.D. as well as a master's degree in economics from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a master’s and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the American University in Cairo. Prior to joining the World Bank, Reem was a Research Agricultural Economist at the Food Economics Division of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). She speaks Arabic.
