Roberto Tejada has more than 20 years of experience in development project management and has worked at institutions such as the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and the German Technical Cooperation Agency (GTZ, GIZ today).

Roberto currently supports the Bank in the implementation and identification of urban resilience projects in Bolivia, as well as in engaging with sectoral counterparts from the national and local governments. He also supports the design and delivery of technical assistance on urban resilience topics such as disaster risk management, urban improvement, environmental management, and urban policies.

Roberto has implemented information systems and tools such as the Balanced Score Card and shared management agreements in public institutions and has also incorporated quality management systems such as ISO 9000. Additionally, he has supported local investment improvement processes by implementing engagement mechanisms between municipalities and civil society, focusing on the prioritization and relevance of investments. Among other projects, Roberto has had the opportunity to oversee the implementation and operations of the Metropolitan Integrated Transportation System in Lima, Peru, and urban infrastructure improvements in Bogotá, Colombia.

Roberto holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Arizona, a Master's degree in Project Management from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Specialization in Project Socioeconomic Evaluation from the University of Los Andes, Bogotá, Colombia.
