Rodica Tomescu-Olariu is an international development professional with over 18 years of experience in international relations, urban development, and land rights. Her career at the World Bank encompasses regional and global units across the Transports, Finance, Competitiveness and Innovation (FCI), and Urban, Resilience, and Land Global Departments. Currently, Ms. Tomescu co-leads the World Bank’s land engagements in Benin and Côte d’Ivoire and coordinates the Land 2030 Umbrella Multi-Donor Trust Fund. A diplomat by training, before joining the World Bank in 2014, Rodica was a member of the Romanian Foreign Service, representing her country in Paris, Brussels, Vienna and Washington, D.C. She holds an M.A. degree in International Relations and Development from George Washington University and has completed executive education at Harvard Kennedy School on Economic Strategies for a Low-Carbon World.
