Rohan Shah is a Transport Specialist for the Latin America and the Caribbean region for the World Bank (WB). He leads and supports a broad range of investment projects and policy lending operations, analytical studies, and policy dialogue in the areas of urban transport, e-mobility, roads, airports, sustainable logistics and hydrogen. Rohan has over 10 years of diverse experience in transport/mobility sectors and infrastructure project finance spanning academia, industry, and WB, including at International Finance Corporation (IFC) on corporate debt, equity, and blended finance transactions across Africa in emerging transport verticals of cold chain logistics, mobility-fintech, and alternative fuels. Prior to joining the WB, he worked in infrastructure finance and technology consulting supporting US federal, state, and municipal governments and investors on urban mobility, toll road, and freight projects.
Rohan joined the WB in 2020 as a Young Professional. He holds a Fellowship (Smart Cities) from Tsinghua University, Beijing, MS (Transportation Engineering and Economics) from the University of Texas, Austin, and BS (Civil and Environmental Engineering) from University of Mumbai, India. He is also a licensed Professional Engineer in the US and serves on the National Academy of Sciences’ Transportation Research Board (TRB) International Trade, and Energy Committees.
