Rosanna Nitti is Senior Urban Specialist with the Social, Urban, Rural, and Resilience (SURR) Global Practice of the World Bank Group, based in Washington D.C. She currently works in the Europe and Central Asia Region and has more than 20 years of experience in implementation of integrated urban development projects and urban regeneration, across a variety of countries and regions, including Europe, Middle East, South Asia, Latin America, and East Asia (including a three-year field assignment in Sri Lanka). She has led and worked extensively on a wide range of Bank projects, including in the areas of urban regeneration and cultural heritage, spatial and regional development, municipal services and infrastructure, and urban resilience. She is an urban planner and a trained architect, with multiple Master’s degrees in Design and Planning Studies respectively from the Istituto Universitario di Architettura of Venice (in Architecture Design and Urban Planning) and the Development Planning Unit (DPU) at the University College of London (in Development Studies and Energy Efficient Designs for Developing Countries).
