Rose Kwena is the Head of Corporate Communications at the Retirement Benefits Authority, Kenya where she is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating pension outreach and education programs. Rose is the OECD International Network of Financial Education (INFE) country coordinator and a member of the Subgroup for Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises.
Rose provided technical assistance through a World Bank assignment to Uganda Retirement Benefits Regulatory Authority (URBRA) to build support for its pension reform legislation in 2013-2014. She has co-authored a publication on Kenya’s Mbao Pension Plan – a case of Pension Innovation in Africa.
Previously, Rose worked with Kenya Tourist Board between 2002 and 2008 as Public Relations & Corporate Affairs Manager where she actively promoted Kenya as a preferred tourism destination internationally. Rose also taught Business and Marketing Communications at the United States International University in Nairobi between 2001 and 2002.
Rose is a member of International Association of Business Communicators (IABC). She is also a Member of the Marketing Society of Kenya and an honored 2010 marketing warrior. Rose holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from University of Nairobi and a Master of Science degree in Marketing Communications from Lindenwood University, Missouri, USA.
