Zhang Ruidong is a senior rural specialist at Alibaba Group and focuses on the role of e-commerce in poverty reduction and rural development. He has published a number of works including A Study on E-commerce Development in Qingchuan County, White Paper on E-commerce of Agricultural Products (2012-2015), A Case Study of Suichang Model, A Study on Innovation Trends in Agricultural Distribution in China and Other Countries, E-commerce Development in Xinjiang, and E-commerce Enables Weak Birds to Fly High –the Role of E-commerce in Poverty Reduction (2015). He was also co-author of several books or papers including Rural E-commerce in Social Transformation and Taobao Village Model, and organized the publication of Internet+: from IT to DT, Internet+: infinite space for the future, and E-commerce and Poverty Reduction – China’s New Development Model for Poor Areas. He has been working in the Internet industry for many years. Before joining Alibaba, he held various positions at TOM and Yahoo, China.
