Saba B. Abbas is a financial sector consultant engaged with the World Bank’s Finance, Competitiveness & Innovation (FCI) Global Practice. She has over seven years of research, project design and management, and M&E experience in the development sector of Pakistan and the US. Prior to joining the World Bank, she worked with Pakistan Microfinance Network (PMN), where she spearheaded PMN’s responsible finance portfolio. She has technical expertise in financial sector development with a focus on financial inclusion, client protection, and financial capabilities and literacy.
She is also a CERISE certified Social Auditor and has extensive experience in conducting 360° institutional assessments of microfinance providers and devising action plans for the clients to bring their practices in alignment with the global best practices.
Saba has a baccalaureate in Politics and Economics from Lahore University of Management Sciences, Pakistan, and a graduate degree in International Development from the American University, Washington DC, for which she was also a recipient of the Fulbright Scholarship.
