Saher is an economist with the South Asia Education Team. In her work, she supports analytical and operational work in Afghanistan and Pakistan. She holds a PhD in Economics from George Washington University. Prior to joining the World Bank, she spent 6 years as an assistant professor of Economics at the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) in Pakistan. Her research focuses on using experimental and quasi-experimental methods to study education issues including working on public sector teacher performance evaluation reforms, early childhood development, linkage between climate change and education, classroom observations as well as developing interventions for enhancing parent engagement with education bureaucracy.
