Sam Agbahoungba is a Girl and Women’s Empowerment (GWE) Specialist at the World Bank Group Health, Nutrition, and Population Global Practice, supporting Côte d’Ivoire and Guinea. He is a development economist and intensively works on demo-economic topics and gender issues, women’s empowerment, and the care economy. Before joining the World Bank, Sam worked as an economist at the Regional Consortium for Research (CREG) in generational economics where he contributed to capacity building initiatives in the Sahel Women's Empowerment and Demographic Dividend World Bank Project (SWEDD). Sam worked as a researcher with various international institutions and has been affiliated with international research networks. He holds a PhD in economics from the University of Thies (Senegal).
