Sam is a Senior Research Scholar at the Center on Food Security and the Environment (FSE) and the Environmental Change and Human Outcomes (ECHO) Lab at Stanford University. His work seeks to improve understanding of social and environmental drivers of health around the world. Recent projects have examined health impacts from and behavioral responses to a variety of environmental stressors including temperature, tropical cyclones, dust, and wildfire smoke. He has a Ph.D. in Agricultural and Resource Economics and a B.A. in Statistics and Economics from the University of California, Berkeley.
