Samer Matta is a Senior Economist in the World Bank’s Fiscal Policy and Growth Global Practice, where he has contributed to the Bank’s macroeconomic engagement in Nigeria since 2021. Previously, he worked on several countries across the Middle East and Africa, contributing to a broad range of analytical studies, policy dialogue, and operational programs. His expertise spans fiscal and monetary policy, debt sustainability, economic growth, and trade. Samer holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Nottingham, and his research has been published in several peer-reviewed academic journals.
