Sami Sofan is a Finance & Private Sector Development Analyst within the World bank’s Finance, Competitiveness, and Innovation Global Practice. His professional experience focused on SME finance, promoting entrepreneurship, and expanding access of microfinance services to underserved populations. Sami is the FCI country coordinator for Yemen and oversees SME development and entrepreneurship programs in the country. Prior to joining the Bank, Sami worked with various donors and government entities including working at the Yemen Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Embassy of Republic of Yemen in Washington DC, and with Creative Associates, a US based NGO. Sami holds a B.A degree from New Mexico State University.
