Sana Zia is a Senior Social Development Specialist for the Social, Development (SD) Global Practice. Her work is geared towards ensuring inclusion, resilience and cohesion in World Bank supported policies, programs, and analytics. Her main areas of interest and expertise include community-led-development (CLD), local governance, women's social and economic empowerment, development response to fragility, conflict and violence (FCV) including forced displacement and social dimensions of climate change.
Before joining the World Bank Group, Sana worked on various operations, programs and analytics covering FCV, governance, and economic development with UN, FCDO and international NGOs. She holds a Master’s in Public Policy and Management from Carnegie Mellon University and a BSc Honors in Economics from Lahore University of Management Sciences.
