Sanae, a Japanese national, joined the Global Infrastructure Facility (GIF) in June 2015 after 10 years working at Mizuho Bank (Tokyo, Singapore, London) in financing and advising ECA and Project Finance for infrastructure. Prior to commercial banking, Sanae worked for the Japan Economic Research Institute for 5 years providing financial and transaction advisory services to the Japanese government and municipalities in PFI & PPP projects. Sanae holds MBA in Finance from Hitotsubashi University and MSc in Applied Environmental Economics from Imperial College, London. Currently, based in Tokyo, Sanae overseas GIF’s projects in MENA and Asia.
