Sara joined the World Bank Group in December 2014. She is currently a Partnership Specialist with the Global Infrastructure Facility (GIF) and focuses on strategy and partnership development with GIF’s Technical MDB Partners, private sector Advisory Partners, GIF’s Beneficiary and Funding Partners, while also focusing on GIF’s relationship with various global initiatives and platforms such as the G20 Infrastructure Working Group.
Sara has also focused on the role of mobilizing Islamic finance for infrastructure PPPs and has worked for several years with the Infrastructure Finance, PPPs & Guarantees group of the World Bank. She also managed the Public-Private Infrastructure Advisory Facility (PPIAF)'s Global PPP Knowledge Portfolio, developing knowledge to help developing-country governments strengthen policies, regulations, and institutions that enable sustainable infrastructure with private sector participation. Sara also spent a year at the IFC managing relationships with key MDB partners, international institutions, and other global platforms such as the OECD and MDB Infrastructure Cooperation Platform.
