Sara Biancini studied Economics at Bocconi University and then at the University of Toulouse where she received her PhD in 2007. After spending one year as a postdoc at the European University Institute in Florence, she went back to France where she worked at the University of Cergy-Pontoise until 2012. After passing the French aggregation last year, she is now a Professor at the University of Caen Basse-Normandie and a researcher at the Centre de Recherche en Economie et Management. She is also a young fellow of the CESIfo research network. Her research interests include industrial organization, regulation, and development economics. She is mainly interested in the issues arising in non-competitive markets, where public intervention is required either in the form of regulation or competition policy.
